Guinness Availability Update - SGPP

As you are aware, current demand for Guinness is unprecedented and Diageo has placed its customers on a restricted allocation to manage supply to the whole UK market.

Until now stock levels have been in line with our forecasted volume.

Whilst we have worked closely with Diageo and Tradeteam to manage stock levels well, the surge in demand means that unfortunately, we are now in a position where some depots are starting to temporarily run out of stock. 

As a result, your order may be impacted by either your delivery being short of the Guinness you ordered, or you may not be able to order Guinness at all, Please note, we have no means to recover any Guinness volume before your next scheduled delivery day,

Guinness Availability Update

Due to a 30% growth in demand for Guinness in 2024, supply is currently exceeding production capacity. To manage this, the following measures have been implemented:

1. Prioritisation of 50L Containers: Production of 30L containers has been paused. Availability will remain until stock is exhausted. Thereafter a switch to 50L containers if you usually order 30L.
2. Allocation-Based Supply: Diageo will control stock supply into our network to ensure fair distribution. We cannot guarantee the exact number of containers available.
3. Maximum Order Quantity: A limit of five containers per site is introduced to ensure fair distribution within our network. Avoid ordering more than immediate needs to maintain steady supply.
4. Delivery Shortages: Fresh stock will be delivered weekly, but some orders may not be fully fulfilled. Availability may vary over the festive period, especially if sites order more than they immediately need. We appreciate your cooperation in helping to ensure fair distribution for all.

Guidance for Managing Supply Challenges

1. Stocking Alternatives: Increase stock of alternative brands like Peroni, Birra Moretti, or Cruzcampo.
2. Out of Stock at Order Placement: Do ensure you are placing an order for 50L containers of Guinness. Production of the 30L variant has been paused. If 50L is unavailable, increase stock of other products.
3. Out of Stock upon Delivery. Sincerest apologies, we have no means to recover Guinness volume before your next scheduled day.
4. Sourcing Outside of Tie: Coordinate with your regional manager for approval to buy out if necessary.
